Wall Street Journal: Ex-SEC Official Gallagher Joins Regulatory Consultant

Three months after stepping down from a top position at the Securities and Exchange Commission, Daniel Gallagher is joining a Washington-based consulting firm established after the financial crisis to help companies navigate the new regulatory maze.

Patomak Global Partners LLC is expected to announce Monday that it has hired Mr. Gallagher, 43 years old, as its president. Mr. Gallagher resigned from the SEC in October after nearly four years as a Republican commissioner and staunch critic of the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial regulatory overhaul. He will work alongside a stable of former colleagues, including Paul Atkins, the firm’s chief executive, who also previously served as a commissioner at the top U.S. market regulator.
